There has always
been a huge World Wide demand for a machine that
could be attached to a motor vehicle in order
to remove water from chamois leathers, artificial
equivalents, and drying cloths during the process
of "drying off" after washing. Mike
Ritson, Maurice Willis and Ron Hickman OBE commenced
development on the Ring dri in 1994. Ron Hickman
had already achieved phenomenal success as the
inventor of the famous Black and Decker portable
Workbench with World Wide sales in excess of 65
million units. Ron was also the designer of the
original Lotus Elan, Plus 2 and the Lotus Europa.
After eight years of initial development the
Ring dri was styled by GEPDA (General Electrics
Plastic Design Associates). This prestigious company
carries out design work for General
Motors, Ford, Smart, BMW and Mercedes
Benz to name but a few. The development and
production costs of the Ring Dri were subject
to substantial investment. The Ring Dri is produced
in the highest quality GE nylon together with
specially formulated rubber components manufactured
by Avon Technical Products. All metal components
have been produced in stainless steel to BS standards.
Patents have been granted in the United Kingdom,
Australia, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands,
Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the USA.
Patents have also been filed in Canada and Japan.
The incredible SSFC (Single Shot Fast Cam) which
attaches the Ring dri to all smooth non porous
surfaces, has also been granted multiple patents.
